Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas from lilystreet and ferndale kitchen.................
(note to self: pen sketch, red pen, wax crayon, food colouring, bleach, photoshop, scan dots , scan ferndale kitchen wrapping paper, glove scan, cloning tool .)

Odds and Ends handmade bag

Made this bag few months ago, just using handstitch. Some vintage flower fairy material appliqued on (thanks Jenny), and sequins, beads and various stitches added. I really like the quilted appearance (thin quilting foam added between layers)

Just finishing a second bag for a present. Its very 'rustic' - but think it suits being like this. stayed off the machine again (much less stressful!! although slow)
You can only just see but the hearts are filled with lace ribbon.

The top is lined with another vintage fabric (grandmas old curtains). I love this material.  Also tried making some ribbon flowers (spot the bought one!)- still have some practising to do with these but really pleased with the result!

Pen drawing : walking in Cambridge

This is from the 'tutor led project' and of a drawing i did in Cambridge when dad was in hospital.  I think i did it after visiting the Bawden Exhibition in Saffron Waldon, Essex and was really inspired by the lino cuts there. The people in the pic are mum and jon x

Pen drawing Godrevy Lighthouse, Cornwall

day one

Quick sketch of canal boat on Sunday in the falling light.  Painted it in watercolour later at home (fingers freezing and was really getting bit too dark.....) I have started to manipulate this for uni project with the intention of creating a fashion fabric. Will post results soon
